Museum Studies

Program Director, Kiersten Latham, 208 Bailey, 864-4543
Scheduling Officer, Kay Isbell, 208 Bailey, 864-2306

For more than twenty-five years the graduate program in Museum Studies has offered training for professional careers in museums, archives, historical agencies, and related institutions. The curriculum provides an understanding of the nature of museums and related institutions as well as specialized training administered by the American Studies program and the departments of Anthropology, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Geology, and History.

Museum Studies Program coursework is divided between the MUSE program (18 credit hours), the participating department or program (18 credit hours), and an internship (6 credit hours).

Information about the program is available from the Museum Studies Office (208 Bailey), on the web page (www.ku.edu/~museumst), from the program director, and on pages 282-283 of the Graduate Catalog.
