International Studies

International Studies is an interdisciplinary M. A. program within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is designed primarily for working professionals as well as recent college graduates in the Greater Kansas City Area. The program consists of core courses in international studies and relevant supporting elective courses from other departments. Students should consult with the program director regarding appropriate electives offered at the Lawrence and Edwards Campuses. All elective courses used to fulfill this program must be approved by the director.

The following courses may be appropriate for the area studies and/or specialized topics tracks within the program. In addition, see listings for each of the area studies programs: African Studies, East Asian Studies, European Studies, Latin American Studies, and Russian and East European Studies. Language classes at the 500-level and above may also count toward the area studies track. Some courses have prerequisites.
